Hey, we’re out of milk. Can you go buy some? The kids are asking for some.
・run out of は「～が尽きる、～が足りなくなる」
・go buy は go and buy のこと。go and ~, come and ~ の and はしばしば省略される
・ask for ~ は「～を求める」つまり「～を求めてお願いする」ということ。for が「求める」ニュアンスで使われている
B: もし帰りにクリーニングも受け取ってきてくれたら、感謝するわ。
If you could pick up the dry cleaning on your way back, too, I’d be grateful.
**pick up the dry cleaning: クリーニングに出したものを引き取る
・文全体は仮定法。if節の中は過去形で「可能性の低さ」を表し、控えめなリクエストになっている。結びの節の I’d は I would で「〜でしょうねぇ」と、控えめに結んでいる
・pick up は「つまみ上げる → 引き取る」
・on one’s way back は「(家に) 戻る途中に」
2⃣ あなたの娘が数学の試験で失敗したようです。慰めてあげましょう。

You:

Come on! Don’t worry. It’s not the end of the world. You’re improving your English, so why not do the same for math?
**math: 数学
・Come on! と、いつもの相手に戻るよう励ませたらとりあえずOK
・why not do the same for math? は「どうして数学は同じことができないの？→もちろんできますよ」というニュアンス
B: 頑張り続ければ、最後にはすべてうまくいくさ。
Keep trying hard, and everything will come right in the end.
・keep + 動詞-ing形 は「～し続ける」
・everything 以降は Lesson 73 で学んだ例と同じ！
