久しぶりに会ったときのあいさつ
Long time no see!
How have you been?
久しぶりに会った相手へのあいさつ言葉。最初の文は英語文らしくない形だが、立派な英語
次の文は現在完了形が使われ「最後に会ってから今まで」の今に至る流れが感じられている
こうしたフレーズは反射的に言えなくてはダメ！
-thing/-one/-bodyで終わる名詞
It’s nothing serious.
英語の修飾を日本語と同様に考えていると、形容詞 serious が名詞の後ろに出てきていることに驚くかもしれないが、
英語には「前から」と「後ろから」の2種類の修飾位置がある
nothing は「何もない」で、あまり情報量の多い単語とは言えない
そこで「深刻な、ね」 と serious で説明を加えている
「説明ルール: 説明は後ろに置く」 が生み出す当然の語順である

この単語 include は「リスト」が想像されている

involve は「含む・伴う」などと訳されるが、イメージは「巻き込む」
強くほかの事柄と結びついていることを表す
