**Heathrow Airport:

**overwhelming:
There are so many travelers. It’s a bit overwhelming.

Is that in London? – Yes, it’s the main hub train station there. From there we can get to many different places.

it ~ + 動詞-ing形
It‘s my first time being here.
これは、it を主語にする文
Lesson 82 で説明した it ~ to… と同じ要領で作られた文だが、ここでは「to不定詞」ではなく「動詞-ing形」が使われている
「動詞-ing形」は生き生きとした行為を描写する形
話し手には being here (ここにいる) であることが生き生きと感じられており、それが「動詞-ing形」の選択につながっている
will のイメージ
It’ll take us to Paddington Station.
助動詞 will が使われている
will は「～だろう」と訳されることが多いが、日本語の「だろう」に見られる不安定さはまったくない
未来の出来事をトンネルの向こうに眺めているような感触で、話し手には確信がある
この文も未来の状況にちょっと目をやり、自信を持って述べている

この単純なイメージが、単純さゆえにさまざまな使いみちを生み出す
この文では「選択」のニュアンスで使われている
目の前の選択肢の中から、ヒースローエクスプレスを選んでいるのである
