Well, I was invited to Ellie’s birthday party. But she’s going out with my ex, so actually I don’t want to go.
・go out with ~ は「〜と付き合う」
・actually は「実は」。相手にとって意外な内容を持ち出すときによく使われる表現。
**invite: 招待する
②出席しない理由を思いつかなくちゃならないのよ。
I have to come up with a reason for not showing up.
・com up with ~ は「〜を考え出す」
・a reason for ~ は「〜の理由」で、その後ろに showing up（現れる・出席する）を使っているが、この showing up の前に not を置くのがポイント。
2⃣ プレゼンテーションの1時間前。チームの同僚が用意していたプレゼン用のファイルが破損していることが分かりました。うろたえる同僚をなだめてください。

①落ち着いて。たとえ時間は少なくなっていても、私たちならきっとうまくやれるよ。
Calm down. Even though we’re running out of time, I’m sure we can work it out.
・calm down は「落ち着く」
・run out of ~ は「〜がなくなる」
・work it out は「うまくやる」
・I’m sure 以下は am sure（確信している）の内容を後ろの節が説明するリポート文の形。
②ファイルを見せて。私はコンピューターの天才なんだ、知っているよね。

・Let me see ~ は「〜を見せてください」で目的語説明型（SVOC）の文。「me が〜を見るのを let（許して）」ということ。
