※What’s up? の up は、何か出来事が地面からニョキニョキと上に上がって来る感じあります😁
**confused: 混乱・当惑して
I’m a bit confused about what Professor Davis said today.
今日デイビス教授が言ってたこと、ちょっとよくわからなくて。
※confuse は「混乱させる、当惑させる」という動詞。confused はその過去分詞ですね！
**explanation: 説明
**the supply and demand curves: 供給・需要曲線
The explanation about the supply and demand curves.
供給曲線と需要曲線の説明。
**quite: かなり
**make sense: 納得のいく、道理にかなう、うなずける
It didn’t quite make sense to me.
どうもピンとこなかったんだ。
**tricky: 難しい、扱いづらい、ややこしい
**go over: 復習する
Yeah, that part was tricky. Want me to go over it with you?

※tricky は「扱うのにコツがいる」イメージ
※go over は「ぐるっと回って行く」で、そこから「復習」の意味で使われています！
**grab a table: テーブルを確保する

※get a table でもOKですが、grab a table の方が勢いのある表現です！
☆GRAMMAR AND VOCABULARY
not + 強い単語
It didn’t quite make sense to me.
それは、私にはそれほど意味を成しませんでした。
not quite は「not + 強い単語」のコンビネーション
強い単語の意味を減じて「それほど・必ずしも〜ない」という意味となる
quite は「かなり」、それを not で減じ
「それほど意味を成したわけではなかった → それほどよくわからなかった」
文全体を覚えること！
控えめな助動詞の過去形
That would be great.
それはすばらしいでしょうね。
would は will (～でしょう) の控えめ表現で「〜でしょうねぇ」
この表現が使われたのは、相手が「私が一緒に復習しましょうか？」と提案してきたため
提案はまだ実現するかどうかわからない。そのため、「(そうなったら) 〜でしょうねぇ」と、現実感の薄い would が使われている

【解説】
・a couple of は 「2 ~ 3の・少数の」
・would は will の控えめ表現「(そうしたことをお願いしたら) OKでしょうか」と丁寧な物言いとなっている
