☆Pronunciation Polish

R: All right guys. I hope you aren’t confused. ‘Cause it’s time to practice our pronunciation. Here we go. Today’s sentence is,

Let me get it. I insist.

We’ll be going over several points. And since today’s phrase is short and sweet, let’s have some fun with it. Okay? Repeat after me,

– ge(t)i(t)

Great job so far. Now, let’s go to “Let.” It’s the disappearing “t”,

– Le(t)
– Le(t) me ge(t)i(t).

One more time,

– Le(t) me ge(t)i(t).

Great. Now, let’s practice,

– I insis(t)

The “t” is really really weakened,

– I insis(t)

Ready for the full sentence?

– Le(t) me ge(t)i(t). I insis(t)

One more time,

– Le(t) me ge(t)i(t). I insis(t).

Excellent work guys. Now, for a little bit of bonus. Let’s try another version of “Let me.” You can say,

– Le(t)me
– Le(t)me ge(t)i(t).
– Le(t)me ge(t)i(t). I insis(t).

If you can master that one, you’ll be sounding like a native speaker in no time. Great work everyone.

★Ending

R: Hey sensei. “Let me get it. I insist.”

O: Oh! Thank you. That’s so kind of you.

D: No, no no no no… Sensei, please “let me get it. I insist.”

O: Oh! Thank you so much. That’s so kind of you!

R: David…

R&D: We’re just practicing!!

O: Well, I have to pay it.
