wish の内容を説明する節が I had ~ となっている
現在のことを述べているのに過去形が使われているのは仮定法だから
仮定法は「実際にはそうではない・可能性が著しく低い」ことを表す形

2つの使い方の根本は同じ
①リポート文

ask はリポート文にも使われる
wh節だけではなく、if/whether 節も使われる
Why don’t you ask her if she’s free tomorrow?
②to不定詞を用いた目的語説明型（SVOC）
He asked me to stay.
ask は「言葉で人を動かす動詞」
目的語を to以下の行為に向かわせる「to不定詞を用いた目的語説明型（SVOC）」と相性のいい動詞
③授与型（SVOO）
They asked us some tough questions.
ask の授与型（SVOO）は、質問 (question) や、
Can I ask you a favor?
など favor と特に相性のいい形
④ask ~ for …
I asked the boss for permission to take a day off.
ask ~ for … は「～に…を求める」際に頻用される形。前置詞の for には「求めて」の使い方がある
面白い表現に
You’re asking for it.
がある
これは「it (罰・悪い状況など) を asking for (頼んでいる)」ということ
「自らトラブル を招いている・自業自得だ」と、主に警告で使われる表現

・最初の文の Hey は、頼み事をするときの決まり文句のようなもの。突然「～してくれない？」と頼むより「ねぇ」と始めたほうがスムーズな発言となる
・help with ~ (～で手伝う) にも注意。with は「道具のwith」(5月号 Lesson 33) で、「～を使って助ける」といった感触。help と with は仲よし♡
・take a look at ~ は「～をちょっと見る」
