**issue with it: それに関わる問題

Sure. Was there an issue with it? – No, not really.
かしこまりました。何か問題がありましたか？ – いいえ、特に問題はありません。

**fit: ピッタリ合う
**change one’s mind: 心変わりをする

It fits, but I changed my mind about the color.
サイズは合うのですが、色について気が変わりました。

**receipt: 領収書、レシート

No problem. Do you have the receipt? – Yes, here it is.
承知しました。レシートはお持ちですか？ – はい、こちらです。

**refund: ～を返金する

**process: (事務的なことなどを) 処理する

It may take a few days to process.
処理には数日かかる場合があります。

※take a few days は「数日を手に取って使う」ですね！

☆GRAMMAR AND VOCABULARY

issue のイメージ

Was there an issue with it?
それに問題はありましたか？

「問題」に issue という単語が使われている

issue のイメージは「出てきたもの」 – そこから「目に見える解決しなくてはならない問題」

problem は達成・進行を阻む明確な「トラブル」

issue のほうがやわらかな語感があり、そちらが優先されている

by のイメージ

How did you pay? – By card.
どのように支払いましたか？ – カードで、です。

この会話から by が how (どのように) に対応する前置詞であることが明確にわかる

by のイメージは「近接・そば」

何らかのゴールを考えたとき、ゴールへ到達する「手段・方法」は手近なところにあるため、それが by で表される

アメリカでの購入品の返品は、一概には言えないが、日本と比較してやや気軽な印象

その店舗の refund policy (返金ルール) を尊重するのはもちろんのこと

未使用 ([衣料品なら] unworn / unwashed)

衣料品ならタグつき (with tags attached)

レシートがある (with a receipt)

返品可能期間である (within the return period)

セール品ではない (not on sale)

こうした条件を満たしていて、購入したものが気に入らなければ、トライする価値はある

あらかじめ、

返品規定はどうなっていますか？

と買う際に尋ねておくのもよい

この例は日本人にとっては無責任と感じ、少し気が引ける発言だが、問題ないことが多い印象

サイズが合わない場合の、

や、漠然とした理由

It’s not quite what I expected.
期待していたものと少し違います。

It’s not really my style.
それほど私のスタイル [個性に合った様式・好み] じゃないんです。

なども使われる

③支払方法

カードで支払いました。

現金で支払いました。

支払った方法も尋ねられるので、答えられるようにしておく
