1⃣ 息子に買ってあげたシャツのサイズが合いませんでした。店に行き返品しましょう。
Staff: Hi there, how can I help you today?
You:
①こんにちは、このシャツを返品したいのですが。息子が最近少し体が大きくなったみたいで、もうこのサイズが合わないんです。
Hi, I’d like to return this shirt. My son seems to have grown a bit recently, so this size doesn’t fit him anymore.
・最初の文ができれば十分 (Lesson 79)
・seem to have + 過去分詞は (これまで・過去に) 〜したようだ」
・not ~ anymore は「もはや〜ではない」
②今はもっと大きいサイズのものが必要だと思います。ひとつ上のサイズと交換してもらえますか？
I think we’ll need a larger one now. Could I exchange it for the next size up?
**the next size up: ひとつ上のサイズ
・a larger one の one は “shirt” の代用表現
・exchange ~ for … は 「～を…と交換する」
2⃣ 観光で東京にやってきた友人と付近を散策していると、「昼食はどこがおすすめ？」と聞いてきました。築地をすすめましょう。
Friend: Where do you recommend going for lunch?
ランチにはどこがおすすめですか？
You:
①築地をおすすめするよ、新鮮な魚介と活気ある雰囲気を楽しめるんだ。
I recommend Tsukiji, where you can enjoy fresh seafood and a lively atmosphere.
**lively atmosphere: 活気のある雰囲気
・ I recommend ~ がすぐに口から出てくればOK (Lesson 77)
・「, where ~」は「ちなみにそこでは〜」と Tsukiji に情報を加える意識で使われている
②ここからは少し歩くけど、その価値は十分あるよ。そこでは、すばらしいすしや屋台の食べ物が見つかるよ。
