embarrass
「（人前で）恥ずかしい思いをさせる、きまり悪がらせる、まごつかせる」
という他動詞なので、
I’m embarrassed. で「恥ずかしい思いをさせられる＝恥ずかしい」となります。
embarrassed は形容詞で「恥ずかしい、きまりの悪い」です。

英語では「感情」がやって来るのは「外から」です。
