**home: 家 (という場所)
**result: 結果、結末
**online: オンラインで
Hey, you’re home early. How did the exam go? – I just saw the results online. I passed!
おや、今日は帰りが早いね。試験はどうだった？ – さっきネットで結果を見たの。受かったよ！
※You’re home の home はある種の「場所表現」です。「home という場所にあなたはいる」ということですね
**be proud of ~: ～を誇りに思う
Really? Congratulations! I’m so proud of you.
本当？おめでとう！とても誇りに思うよ。
**shake: 震える、振動する

☆GRAMMAR AND VOCABULARY
単語はイメージでとらえる
How did the exam go?
その試験はどうでしたか?
英単語を日本語訳だけで学ぶことには限界がある
この文の go は「行く」では意味が通じない
この単語のイメージは、
「ある場所から出ていき、進んでいく」
それがわかると、この文が「試験がどのように進んでいったのか？→ 試験はどうだった？」と尋ねていることがわかる
条件を織り込む would
That‘d be great!
それはすばらしいでしょうね！
That’d = That would
この would は will の控えめ表現
この状況では「お祝いしなければ」と、父の提案はまだアイデア段階
なので、強く現実的な will (でしょう) では、それが行われることが前提になった発言となってしまい、ちょっと厚かましい💦
そこで would を用い「(それが行われるとすれば) すばらしいでしょうねぇ」と発言している
would では、こうした条件を織り込む使い方がしばしばなされる

Good for you! など「よかった・よくやった」の定型句はたくさんある
well done は「よくなされた」
way to go は「進むべき道をたどっている」
から「よくやった」の意味となる
反射的に言えるように繰り返し練習すること！

[自動車の運転免許試験に合格した友人を祝福します]
「運転免許、取ったの？おめでとう！よくやった。よかったね。で？次は何？もしかしてドライブ旅行かな？」
【解答例】
You got your driver’s license? Congrats! Well done. Good for you. So? What’s next? A road trip, maybe?
【解説】
・What’s next? はよく使われる表現。主語を尋ねるwh疑問文なので、主語位置に what をポンと置いて、疑問文としている

All right. So, let’s go through the practice points together. The first point is linking between “proud of.” Repeat after me,

And now the /ə/ sound in “you,”

Great. Now, let’s practice “congratulations.” Remember this word always has an “-s” but it doesn’t come out very strong. Like this,
