**whatever: なんでも
・I wonder ~ はリポート文で「～かどうかと思う＝～ということなのかな」と、首をかしげている感触
・whatever you want は「あなたが欲しいものは何でも」で、what you want（あなたが欲しいもの）と同じ作り方で whatever を使う

それで、誕生日プレゼントとして現金をあげたのね？

Actually, I went to some stores to choose a nice present for her, but I just ended up realizing I don’t know her at all.
**realize: 気がつく
**not ~ at all: まったく〜ない
・end up + 動詞-ing形は「最終的に～ということになる」
・realizing 以下は realizing を後続の節が説明するリポート文の形。ended up の後ろに and I realized ~（そして～に気がつきました）とつなげてもOK
②彼女が何が欲しいのか、どんな色が好きなのか、何も知らないんだ。これからは彼女のことをもっとよく知るように努力するよ
I don’t know what she wants, what color she likes, anything. From now on, I’ll try to know her better.
**from now on: これから（ずっと）
・know の後ろに what she wants, what color she likes と wh節（Lesson 67）
・try + to不定詞は「～するように試みる・頑張る」
