I read your email and was really impressed with the project you proposed ( ).
**propose: 提案する
・was impressed with ~ は「～に感銘を受けた」
・the project you proposed ( ) では関係代名詞節修飾が行われている。proposed の後ろの空所 ( ) と the project が組み合わされ「あなたが提案した – プロジェク ト」となる
B: 来週、夕食をとりながらその話をしませんか、例えば、金曜日の夕方などに？
What do you say we talk about it over dinner next week, say, Friday evening?
・talk about ~ over dinner は「～について夕食をとりながら話し合う」で、話し合いの期間が dinner を覆っている (over) 感触
・What do you say ~? と、例を挙げる say が使えたら合格 (Lesson 142)
2⃣ 娘の学習塾から電話がありました。どうやら授業をサボっているようです。帰ってきた娘に話をしてください。

I received a call from your teacher. Don’t tell me you skipped class again. If there’s a reason, I want to hear it.
・receive はややフォーマルな感触なので、この場面にふさわしい
・Don’t tell me ~ ができたら合格 (Lesson 143)
B: でも、ただ怠けているだけなら、それは許されないよ。この件について真剣に話し合う必要があるね。
But if you’re just being lazy, that’s unacceptable. We need to talk about this seriously.
**lazy: 怠惰な
**unacceptable: 許し難い、受け入れられない
・you’re just being lazy はbe動詞の進行形で、「怠惰な行いをしている」と動的なニュアンス
・talk は「話し合う」 (Lesson 141)
