1⃣ 何もやる気がせず、困っている友人にアドバイスしましょう。

Friend: Why do you think life feels so boring?
どうして人生って退屈なんだと思う？

You:
A: 人生で退屈しているなら、それはもしかすると自分のやりたいことリストを十分に更新していないからかもしれないね。

If you’re bored in life, maybe that’s because you’re not updating your bucket list enough.

**update: ～を更新する

・bored は過去分詞からの派生形容詞、「退屈して・飽き飽きして」と人の感情を形容する (Lesson 187)

・that’s because ~ は「それは～だからだ」という決まり文句

・bucket list は (Lesson 187)

B: 興味のあることを何でもやってみなよ。そうすれば残りの人生、ずっと刺激を受け続けられるかもしれないよ。

Try doing whatever you’re interested in. That may keep you inspired for the rest of your life.

**for the rest of your life: 残りの人生の間
**inspired: 刺激を受けて、動機づけられて

・「try + 動詞-ing形」は「～を (実際に) やってみる」

・interested, inspired も過去分詞からの派生形容詞、人の感情を表す

2⃣「ちょっと落ち込んでいるようね」と心配する同僚に、昨日のプレゼンテーションで何があったのかを伝えてください。

Coworker: You look a bit down.
少し落ち込んでいるようね。

You:
A: 昨日、クライアントへのプレゼンの最中に、パソコンが突然フリーズして、再起動するのにものすごく時間がかかってしまったんだ。

Yesterday during my presentation to the clients, my computer suddenly froze, and it took me forever to restart it.

**freeze (過去形は froze): フリーズする
**restart: ～を再起動する
**forever: とても長い間、永遠

・during は「～の間」、その間に何かが起こることを表す前置詞

・took me forever は授与型（SVOO）「私」から「長い時間」を奪った意味関係

・forever は「長い間」を表すカジュアルな言い回し

B: あれはこれまででいちばん恥ずかしい経験だったよ。

That was the most embarrassing experience I’ve ever had.

・embarrassing は「恥ずかしくさせるような」と、事物を形容する表現 (Lesson 186)、ここでは最上級 the most embarrassing となっている (Lesson 188)
