付加疑問文
付加疑問文は、平叙文にちょこっと語句を加え疑問文とする形。軽い疑問や念押しの気持ちを伝える。
基となる文を疑問文に変え文末に加えるが、この際、肯定・否定を入れ替えることに注意。
この文では基の文は肯定文なので、否定疑問「, didn’t it?」を加えることになる。
また、The Christmas tree を it で受けていることにも注意。付加する疑問文は軽さが身上。代名詞を使い、軽く軽く仕上げる。
② He gave me some flowers.
授与型（SVOO）
この文は授与型。「～に…をあげる・くれる」を意味する基本文型の一つ。動詞の後ろに me、some flowers と2つ目的語があることに注意。

がっちりターゲットを「定める」イメージを持つ動詞。「（事実などを）特定する・突き止める」ほか「決定・決意する」という意味でも使われる
determined はその過去分詞「決意している」ことを表す
「～しないことを決意する」ときは determined not to ~ となり、not は to 以下を否定している
