it ~ to…
it は that や this のように「指す」単語ではなく「受ける」単語。まずは、心に浮かんだ状況を it で受け、It was your decision（あなたの決定だったのです）と文を始めている。それだけでは何が「あなたの決定だった」のかが分からないため、it の内容を to 以下で「バンドを辞めるのは」と説明展開している。
この形は心に浮かんだ状況をまず it で受け、文を始めてしまうのがコツ
② He’s nowhere near as good as I am ( ).
as ~ as … を用いた表現
as ~ as … は「…と同じくらい〜」という比較表現
I am の後ろに空所 ( ) があることを意識する。この空所に good が意識され「私がそうであるほどよくはない」となっている。
